Finding tinnitus difficult to live with?
Support for the stress, worry and overwhelm that can come with tinnitus
Perhaps tinnitus is the first thing you notice in the morning, or it feels more intrusive when you’re trying to sleep. You might find yourself checking it throughout the day, worrying about changes, or wondering whether you’ll ever feel comfortable with it.
You don’t need to be told to “just ignore it”. You need space to talk about what you’re experiencing and explore ways of making life feel more manageable.
I offer hypnotherapy and practical, CBT-informed support for people struggling with the emotional impact of tinnitus. Sessions are available online across the UK and in person in Guildford.

Hi, I’m Will and I live with tinnitus too
I’ve lived with tinnitus for more than 20 years. I know how difficult it can be when a sound you haven’t chosen demands your attention, particularly when you’re tired or already under pressure.
Your experience will be your own. I won’t assume that what has helped me will necessarily help you. Instead, we’ll take time to understand what you’re finding difficult and what you would like to change.
As a hypnotherapist, I offer a calm, collaborative approach, combining hypnosis with practical ways of exploring stress, attention and unhelpful thinking patterns.
What could we work on together?
People seek support for different reasons. Perhaps you’re finding it difficult to settle at bedtime because your attention keeps returing to tinnitus, or manage worry about what tinnitus means for your future, or concentrate on work, relationships and activities that you enjoy.
We would agree goals that matter to you. That might mean developing a calmer bedtime routine, responding differently to worrying thoughts, or spending more time doing things you value. The aim is to support your wellbeing and help you feel better equipped to live with tinnitus. I don’t offer a cure or promise that the sound will become quieter or disappear.
What happens during sessions?
We begin with a conversation about your tinnitus, its impact on your life and any medical assessment or support you have received. We’ll also explore your sleep, stress levels and what you have already tried.
During your first full session, I take notes to help prepare an individual treatment plan. We’ll discuss the approach together and review it as we go.
Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
Hypnotherapy: guided attention, imagery and suggestions tailored to the goals we have agreed.
Practical relaxation skills: exploring ways to settle tension without making relaxation another task you have to get “right”.
CBT-informed techniques: looking at thoughts and habits that may be adding to your distress.
Between-session practice: manageable activities to help you explore these skills in everyday life.
You can ask questions throughout. Hypnosis does not require you to surrender control, and you can speak, move or stop at any point.
Not sure whether this is right for you?
That’s what the free consultation is for.
During our 20-minute online conversation, you can tell me what has been happening and what you would like help with. I’ll explain how I work, answer your questions and discuss whether my approach seems appropriate.
You don’t need to prepare anything or commit to treatment. The consultation is a conversation, rather than a hypnotherapy session.

A clear, realistic approach
Hypnotherapy is not an established treatment for tinnitus itself, and research has not established its effectiveness for tinnitus. It may be used as a relaxation approach, but results cannot be guaranteed.
My work focuses on support with the stress and emotional difficulties surrounding tinnitus. It complements medical care and does not replace assessment, hearing support or tinnitus-specific psychological treatments. If another service would be more appropriate for you, we can discuss that openly.
Practical questions
Can we work together online?
Yes. I offer online sessions across the UK, as well as face-to-face appointments in Guildford. For online appointments, you’ll need a reliable internet connection and somewhere private where you can talk comfortably.
How many sessions will I need?
We’ll discuss a proposed course of sessions after exploring your needs. We’ll review how the work is going together, rather than assume everyone needs the same approach or number of appointments.
What does it cost?
The initial 20-minute online consultation is free. Full sessions cost £95. We’ll discuss the likely commitment before you decide whether to proceed.
Should I see my GP first?
If your tinnitus has not been assessed, please speak to your GP. New or changing symptoms may need medical attention. You can find advice on when to seek help on the NHS tinnitus page.
Let’s talk about what you’re finding difficult
You don’t have to know whether hypnotherapy is right for you before getting in touch. We can start with a conversation and take it from there.
